Generally, organic products are those that are produced from raw materials that were grown without chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizer.

As an alternative to using these chemicals an organic farmer might fertilize the soil by retuning natural compost back into the soil.

Another technique that organic farmers might use is crop-rotation that rejuvenates the soil because different crops planted at different times will return much-needed nutrients back to the soil.

As an alternative to pesticides and herbicides, an organic farmer might use complementary planting such that one type of plant located to another specific complementary one will repel bugs.
