We believe:

1. Everybody needs power*;
   No one can do without it; and
   Every individual should become fully empowered.
2. Being empowered is being committed to yourself, other people, and to the world around you.
   
3. Empowered people are able to use skills to mobilize resources to produce a desired change in their lives and in the world around them.
4. Empowered people have greater control and confidence in themselves and in their future.
5. When we are strong in the present and mindful of the future, we leave a lighter footprint on the environment and act in ethically responsible ways.
